Re: Another scam discovered

Crewmeal, please be aware that dual pricing does not just apply to the more expensive restaurants. It can be, and often is, applied in cafes and restaurants of all levels. We just are not always aware.

Personally, I don't really see it as a scam especially if I am shown or told a ...

Re: Important Question..

The “ visa on arrival” is 30 days.

Depending on your circumstances, you can extend this, by applying at the visa office, for periods up to 12 months. Don’t ask me the rules….they are beyond obscure.

After 12 months you are required to leave the country for a day….and the process starts all over ...

The governorate is also planning on adding bike lanes to the streets of Cairo, but they have yet to reveal any details about this project.

Die Another Day

As if life in Cairo wasn’t difficult enough, some bright spark has decided to copy another western idea..great in concept but utterly impracticable, and dangerous, if you’ve ever experienced road traffic in Cairo

One for the terminally suicidal.

Tutankhamun’s condom

This interesting article caught my eye….although the ancient- origins site is renowned for pseudo- science and highly dubious research.

I very much doubt that Tutankhamun would have any need for birth control, and the sight of a linen condom might well have seen Ankhesenamun pleading a headache ...

What to do…..

Now that the regime is about to crumble, it is urgent that all national forces come together around a project that is bigger than us, bigger than our political views, and bigger even than our past grievances against each other: save Egypt. All political prisoners must be released ...
