Re: Hi
Greetings Dusak :br As someone else who does not contribute anymore I do however drop in now and again to see who is still amongst the living. So as it was your good self that posted I broke my usual routine of 'just a quick visit' in order to login and say how nice it was to hear from you again and ...

Re: Stepping Down
Thank you all for your kind comments from both the L4U & E4U sites, if I had realised I had so much support I might not have left.
Keefy has been kind enough to acknowledge my other roles over the years of being Admin and Moderator on all three sites when they all existed. I was very ...

Stepping Down
I have finally decided to step down as Admin/Moderator on the L4U forums. Now don’t all cheer at once, :a4: I know that many of you do not like the way I moderate or try to run the forums, but that is just a downside of doing this onerous task. I joined the L4U forums in 2006 and have been a fairly ...

Re: Waterwheels
A4 I truly hope that you continue to make posts about the local history of Luxor, I have said it before and I will say it again, you have a vast pool of knowledge of the local history, but may I request that you make your posts more open and not make us have to guess as to what people or places you ...

Windows 7
Just a timely reminder that one of Microsoft’s best loved operating systems Windows 7 will cease to be supported on the 14th of January 2020. Estimates put it as high as 45% of people still using this O/S and I am not surprised it is IMO probably the best and most stable of all the versions. You can ...

Re: Waterwheels
Thanks Barry, funnily enough I have seen a similar looking one to that particular wheel in some of my other images, certain details look the same
(I don't mean in general design) so maybe it was reused elsewhere, even the one being hauled up Who2's wall is looking suspect.

Re: Egypt's Tahrir Square on lockdown as regime moves to stifle protests
Although Carrie I suspect that people like A4 still have many friends and contacts in Egypt and his sources of information are just as reliable as those of anyone else, he has been very knowledgeable on certain things in the past and stories from a friend of a friend are just that, stories and often ...

I can’t quite remember where I took this photo, somewhere on the road back to the Horus bridge as I recall. I often smile at his hand painted sign of 1 Euro per picture I bet he had lots of takers, is it still there?

Re: Egypt's Tahrir Square on lockdown as regime moves to stifle protests
More than 2,000 people have since been detained, including high-profile activists who do not appear to have had any involvement in the protests, according to civil society groups.

Can’t seem to open the above images.
I’m devastated. :a84: :58: :58: :58:
You cant open the above images because they cannot be researched by using Wiki therefore that puts you at a severe disadvantage. You need a bit more intellect to figure it out, but perhaps someone will be kind enough to ...

Re: I fought the Law ....and the Law won!!
You just cannot abide to be wrong can you Newcastle? Your normal response is to pick at a minor point and then add your own waffle to it, you have managed to turn an innocent remark about women knitting at the guillotine into an argument. Why did there need to be a precise location to within 50 ...
