Hassle

Post by Zooropa » Sat Aug 16, 2014 12:56 pm

Today I visited Madinet Habu, The Ramaseum and the Temple Of Seti 1.

I left my hotel at 7am and was back at exactly 9am.

Why?

Hassle, at each site I was either the only one there in two cases and in the other there was a group of two other people.

I was not left alone for the whole time I was at each site, I gave up trying to video each site because the guardian at each site wouldn't leave me alone.

I tried to explain that I did not need guiding as I had been before (only true of Madinet Habu) and just wanted to be left alone.

On each occasion it fell on deaf ears.

I could, I suppose, have given each guardian a tip to leave me alone but I didn't have any small notes and in any case I shouldn't have to.

I know times are tough but ive done my bit, im here and im generous with my tips.

People are not going to come if this level of hassle continues, as far as im concerned I cant say ive ticked Set 1 & the Ramaseum off because I didn't spend enough time at each site.

I am, very disappointed to say the least.

Some people will never learn lessons.

That's a bummer - at least you've got an excuse to return (although I doubt if you need an excuse). Being curious how did you get there and back in 2 hours and visit the sites (even if only for a few minutes)?

Although this is only the 3rd post on this topic I'm going off on a slight tangent - was it one cat photographed twice or two cats at Karnak?

Hi Brian, pre arranged taxi, left at 7, was at habu by 7.30ish, I was only at each site for ten or fifteen minutes.

The taxi driver kept asking why I was being quick at each site.

But as you say I will have to go back, perhaps I need you to be my bodyguard!

Blimy! good eyes!

Although there were several cats around the place I do believe its the same cat as its in the same position in the pic with me on as it was when it was the main target in the other photograph.

Wish I could say it was good eyesight but alas that is not the case. When I open the picture it goes to mega size at first so only part of the photo shows on screen and it just happened to be of the bit where the cat was in the shade.

Brian, by bringing to the public eye the existence of not one, but two cat's photo's into the discussion, you have now caused several anti cat lovers on this forum to the point of scalping themselves as they pull at their hair and scream out ''oh no, f****** cat photo's on yet another forum. And if Stan The Man was still with us, God bless him, he would be the first!!!

Well, all I can say to that Zooropa is that its a good job you didn't let your true feelings be known towards cats while supping tea in my home after I introduced you to Alfie and Bob. You would of ended up with more than a blister or two from them. :D

This is me just chilling out LLL, my second face for those that say I have two.

Dont forget the fivers next time Z'
That guarantee's you the peace you need inside SETI 1
I give one each to the guardian at the door and the policeman,( stops them following you ) then one to the policeman inside.

the Ramaseum is a tricky place to get any peace, but it can be done once inside, as each guardian seems to have his own patch, so just pay off the ones you need to, or wait until there are plenty of visitors. remember times are hard and they are going to be trying harder..

Best of luck next time, which I think will be a quieter time anyway, just before the main season kicks in ( whats left of it) .. :br

Give them money to bugger off and they'll just do the same to the next visitor - for them it would then be a win win situation - get paid to go away or get paid to guide.
