Needless to say, another email is in the inbox of Egyptair Customer Services.

:a23:
That is strange! I do the exact same and can always bring two bags unless it is clear that it is a promotion, I cannot remember what they call that fare.

I hate to tell you that I have a lot of bad experience with Egyptair Customer Service online. I wish you the best of luck.

:a28: When are you coming to Luxor? :a44:
In the past you could see the different fare categories. This time I couldn't. As I selected the flight time on my chosen dates it was clear that it was Economy Class. At the end, at the bottom, there was a choice of 'Lowest Fare' or 'All Fares'. Naturally, if I'm travelling Economy I want the lowest fare, but I checked the All Fares as well and, once I'd got over my fainting fit, selected Lowest Fare. No where did it specify anything else.

When am I going to Luxor - If they don't get their act together it may be never! :xx

Update:
After spending way more time on this subject than I should have needed to, Egyptair have now (grudgingly or so it felt from their email) allowed a 2nd hold bag.

It has taken numerous emails, sending links showing my booking process, them sending screen shots of what they insist I should have seen as the booking pages, and my then having to go through the whole process again taking screen shots of what I actually saw during my booking process.

I think the anomaly occurs when trying to do a multi-destination booking as that most certainly does not take you to the blue columns with various pricing options depending on time and class of flight chosen - which is what Egyptair kept insisting was what I was using and had chosen the special price option on.

I won't bore you more with my saga. I will just say to you that if you are going to book an Egyptair flight, check all the details, and then check again, making sure you have gone through all the extra links. If you have any question about the booking conditions, ring them, or better still email them so that you get a written reply in case you need to pursue things further or need proof of what has been said, (yes, I know this defeats the object of online booking, but it may save you a lot of time and a big headache).

This has not been about getting something for nothing, just trying to get what I genuinely believed I'd paid for. I think I now have that. Phew! :a78:

I think the answer to that is - it depend what pricing offer and conditions you select. Which international route you are travelling may make a difference too.

Egyptair have described allowing me a second case as being a goodwill gesture from them. I do not see it in the same way.

Great. Not everyone has been so fortunate, no matter who they have booked through.
