Local Vodaphone SIM Card

Post by Gulliver » Tue Mar 29, 2016 4:35 pm

I purchased the above on my recent visit Feb/March from the Vodaphone Shop in Television Street. Cost 18EGP plus I added extra credit.
Can anyone advise if there's a time limit on such a Sim Card being inactive. I'm hoping to come again in Oct/ Nov ?? but not sure yet. I should have asked the question when I was in the shop !!
Thanks

Did you show your passport and get it registered in your name?

I keep mine alive and working in the UK by switching it on once a month and letting it send the text messages welcoming me to the UK etc. It seems to be enough to keep the number active till i get back

I believe now that the sim will remain active if used at least once every three months, according to friends that have them for short stay. If you do return Gulliver, enjoy your travels. :up

If it's registered in your name then Gulliver and you do as Robbo says then I think you will be OK. Good luck

Thanks for your input ~ I've been coming to Luxor regularly for the last 12 years, so unlikely to stop unless flights are 'difficult'. It's rather a long swim 8)
