When you click on Crewmeals link it shows that the flight took off LHR at 3pm and landed CAI 8.40pm

A Dreamliner, don't know if they use those planes for freight.

Dreamliners are used for both passenger and frieght Carrie, we flew on a Dreamliner last year, very nice and much quieter.

Yet another Egyptair flight to London using MS777. This surely must be a freighter flight.

Could it be one of the flights to collect Egyptians to return home.
Isn't LHR still action as a hub for major destination transfers?

Call me thick but,
How come they reckon that 15,000 passengers enter the UK via Heathrow daily.
And.... None get checked for CV19 ?

It seems the boss of HR has advised this, the badley located and underused testing stations would be put to
better use at ports of disembarkation.

The advisors to HM Gov must have their reasons, I wonder what they are ? ..... 8)

Who2. This has been brought up a number of times at the Government Press briefings.
Among the various reasons given are:
-Head thermometer tests are not that accurate and can be out by a couple of degrees thus missing fever temperature.
-The incubation period is a long time so even if tested clear on arrival you could still be either assymptomatic or incubating. (Which is why compulsory, not randomly advised 14 day quarentine would be a good idea surely?.)
- Testing is better when done at a departure point, stopping anyone showing symptoms from boarding a flight. (I can see some logic in that...except surely some of the above issues also apply.) If you saw news videos of the migrant agricultural workers prepearing to return, you will have seen they were having to do some medical screening before flying.

I actually think that the whole medical screening, contact identification/tracing was such a big problem and they tried to put things in place too late, that the horse had bolted before they could close the stable door, nevermind lock it.

On the Andrew Marr show this morning Dominic Raab was asked the same question.....and gave the standard reply.

The scientists and health gurus didn’t think it would make any material difference given the length of the incubation period, the unreliability of temperature checks and the fact that the virus is already widespread in the community. It should also be remembered that mobile testing units, the efficiency and speed of testing turnarounds etc is a very recent development.

Now that we have more reliable and quicker testing, which is now being rolled out to key workers etc., the situation has changed and I wouldn’t be surprised if testing is introduced at entry ports.

This could be coupled with mandatory quarantining. At the moment, arrivals are simply advised to self-isolate.

I don’t think there’s anything sinister in the absence of entry port screening. It’s just another example of the government being a bit slow off the mark and ambivalent in the rigour of its approach to dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. A consequence, I suppose, of living in a liberal democracy.

I’m not sure I’d want it otherwise.

Maybe not too late as part of the control for phase two. With so few flights coming in at the moment it should be easier to build up quarantine and track and trace information. That can then be built upon and hopefully form a new line of defence.
