You could try firefox or google chrome, or even using avant browser (which uses IE as a backend) these all work fine.

However I have altered some coding which should solve the problem, You must empty all your temp internet files though, then try open the forum again.

Let us know if you still have these tab problems or not.

I am finding the red, yellow and light blue (mainly used for the names of the posters on the left side) all to be pretty illegible. For some reason this light blue background is a killer. Even these graduated shading backgrounds make reading more difficult. I am blocking them with Ad Blocker at the moment because the plain light blue behind them makes things easier to read. I had to block a lot of images on the old sight to make the thing load fast and to be easy on the eyes and I am finding the new site to be the same. It looks nice from a visual perspective, but for me legibility and loading times are more important.

I do find they are clearer depending on which screen I'm using and the light conditions I'm in. I for one don't want them brighter as I find them distracting and have no wish for a migraine!

2 background gradients which will save about 2k (the images to make the forum should be cached once loaded, this wont slow the forum down in anyway. I agree with the yellow for the moderators though :)

The background gradients were not the loading issue, they simply make the posts harder to read!

Yes it does too... on this computer, I've discovered (my notebook), but not so on my Mac, so I guess I'll just have to italicise or use colour.

Scroll back when writing a reply.

Sometimes, when you are writing a reply you may need to go back to a previous post in the thread to confirm something - as I tried to do just now. Unfortunately, it will only go back to the top of the page you are in. I was on page 2 and wanted to check something in the opening post which I couldn't do. I'm sure we used to be able to scroll back through all posts when we were writing a reply. Can we have that back again please?

@ WI - How strange... Just got my little 10.1" netbook out and the BOLD looks good on there too, maybe the Mac needs an updated graphics driver of something, I cant think of anything else WI.

@ Glyph - On the new style forums I made all the fonts and graphics bigger for easier reading, but its your choice to view it as you like it and I respect that :)

Use the normal Post Reply button and not the quick reply button :) The Topic review is then under the text box you are typing your post in, exactly the same as the old forum :)

I did usePost Reply button. (I've not even seen 'quick reply' button yet!)

I'm using Post Reply button now, and although I can see the review underneath it will only go back so far. I copy below the first reply I can get back to - it was by JOJO

Is there a link on the Blueside anymore to switch over to the Greenside?

Edit - just seen 'quick reply' and I've definately not used it.

I have no idea what you mean, Keefy, :? (but that's just me! :D ) but my laptop is the latest model so I'd assume it has the latest gizmos; but don't worry about it anymore it's not a major issue for me, was just pointing it out assuming it was the same for all. You have far more important matters to solve. :wi

It may be that I'm the only one having this problem, but the yellowy colour of the Moderators names is causing me difficulties. I have great difficulty reading them, and all the tine that they are on the screen; they hurt my eyes!
Would it be possible to change this coulour?

Secondly, I'm sure I remember reading that you were going to add a 'spellcheck' to the forums, is this on the horizon?

@ Teddyboy

I will not be adding a spell checker since the majority of browsers these days have an in-built spell checker, if not an addon will be available.

@ Lisak

There is no Like button mod (code) for the forum right now, but they might be in future, the only think is a thanks for your post (mod) which I dont like, so for the moment you will have to press the Facebook like to say you like the topic (which will show a +1, +2 etc on the icon above the topic)

I thought the old format was much more artistic and attractive, but I admit that's a matter of personal preference. I find the new screen colour uncomfortable on the eyes, the blue blackground was much gentler particularly if, like mine, your eyesight is less than perfect. I also think the loss of the scroll is a shame. At the moment I am struggling to get the hang of the new format as the page keeps rolling or flickering every time I try to go back a page or switch from one topic to another. Changes are sometimes difficult to adjust to, admittedly, but I am struggling to see how the new format is an improvement on the old at the moment. Perhaps someone can tell me what the advantages are if I'm missing something. :(

@ timetraveller

The font is bigger on here so it should be easier to read, after 20 years of programming computers constantly, my eyes are really bad, but I can read this without having to increase the resolution like i use to on the old forum to 125% The biggest complaint of the old forum was the white text on the blue background

All you need to do is click the View Post Options under the Luxor4u Logo, this is faster that having to wait for the top 10 scroller to go around, options in the View Post Options include:

View unanswered posts (posts that no one has posted in)
View active topics (posts that have been posted in the last 7 days, you can choose up to 1 year)
View unread posts (posts that you have not read)
View new posts (posts that are new since you last logged in)
View your posts (posts that you have made)

Search and click around there is too many new improvements to mention, but the main is more control over the entire board.

20 minutes typing a reply, previewed it a couple of times, hit the back button and the page expired immediately.
Now I have to remeber what I typed 20 mins ago, not easy for my feeble brain with the memory retention of a lobotomised Golfish y'know :?

can't embedd youtube vidoes.

and the site when you first log on, just misses that "Buzz of activity". :cg

Hmmmm Bullet Magnet what made you click the back button?

You can put you tube videos here, its just you cant use the embed option, its a security risk, the new way is easier, just paste the URL (link) and use the YouTube BBCode

Today I keep getting this:-

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Unknown column 'p1.post_deleted_time' in 'where clause' [1054]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

Please notify the board administrator or webmaster: admin@luxor4u.com

Only happens when I click the arrow for last post on the right. If I open a post from the title on the left of the page it's fine but then I have to go through all the pages, or maybe jump to the last one.
