The Carpenters: Calling occupants of interplanetary craft

Post by Bullet Magnet »

Back in '76 I first heard this song on the bus to skool..

It was hard believe that this song was by the Carpenters, the music my Mother liked, not me,,, :tk :tk :tk

Here is the long version.. Clever and catchy little song... :cg

In your mind you have capacities you know
To telepath messages through the vast unknown

Please close your eyes and concentrate
With every thought you think
Upon the recitation we're about to sing

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary most extraordinary craft

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary most extraordinary craft

You've been observing our earth
And we'd like to make a contact with you
We are your friends

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary ultra-emissaries

We've been observing your earth
And one night we'll make a contact with you
We are your friends

Calling occupants of interplanetary quite extraordinary craft

And please come in peace, we beseech you
Our earth may never survive
So do come, we beg you
Please interstellar policeman
Oh, won't you give us a sign
Give us a sign that we've reached you

(instrumental)

With your mind you have ability to form
And transmit thought energy far beyond the norm

You close your eyes, you concentrate
Together that's the way
To send the message
We declare world contact day

(instrumental)

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary most extraordinary craft

Calling occupants
Calling occupants
Calling occupants of interplanetary, anti-adversary craft

One of the finest guitar solos EVER (let's not forget another masterpiece 'Goodbye to Love')!
Tony Peluso, who died in 2010.
He turned the 'soft rock ballad' into the 'power rock ballad'.
Hugely underated!
Oh, and incidentally, it was originally a Klaatu (Canadian band) song.
A lifetime sufferer of Zymocenosilicaphobia

I like the guitar solo, it is what made me listen to the song again, and again..
I considered it a tame solo, but it really is well played. :up
Thanks for the Info GD47, I'm researching that now..

I do wonder where the Carpenters would be today if Karen were still alive, She had a beautiful voice, was an accomplished musician, and loved life..
She was also a very good drummer.

Klaatu.. Canadian Beatles ? and That's NOT a bad thing.. Just been listening to some of their songs ! Brilliant..
Thanks again GD47.. :up :up :up

I cant speak for other's, but if you go down your own path and have a good think about things,
then quite clearly we were highly intelligent thousands of years ago, and we certainly were not cavemen descended from apes.. :td

Moses clearly had some form of ET assistance during the flight out of Egypt. . . Why did he leave though, and what did he take from Egypt ?
These writings are clearly an attempt to dumb down man by threatening mankind with god. Follow the exploits of the Arc of the covenant in the book of Samuel then clearly this box did not hold the Ten commandments..
Christianity opened up a whole new agenda for the enslavement of mankind. :urm:

We are here to learn a lesson, and I used to think we were in some form of Nursery School, but now I know that is not the truth, this life on Earth is a Masterclass.. For you spiritual lot, it takes a very brave Soul to come down here...

Having lived as a very young child in the Dales, then moving out to Wales, having what I can only describe as Out of this world experiences in both places, I am in no doubt about humans being of greater intelligence than we were today.

Earth contact day will occur in 2026, and we only have about 2 years to wait until mankind KNOWS there is life elsewhere in the universe,

Aliens ? Our Fathers, who art in Heaven...

This is relevant, Please Do NOT dismiss it...
It may be difficult, and that is understandable,

Imagine being born and brought up all you life in the forest, then one day, you go for a walk, and stumble upon a modern day city like Tokyo...

Perpetual War and disease will not allow us to progress any further...
That is why, they are up there, and WE are down here in the remote 8 th sector of Space.
Times Really are changing...
