7. Heat up Health Aids
You use a microwave to reheat your coffee, so why not use it to heat and reheat gel packs for headaches? (Don't do this with a metal-wrapped pack.)

As a busy mother/farmer when microwave ovens were first available, I thought they were a Godsend.

I really used them to cook, not to warm food. Every Sunday after lunch I would make 7 cakes in the microwave. Each one different and one for each day of the week.

It only takes 6 minutes to cook a cake. :)

Big Bramley apples in their skins about 4 minutes.

Sauces, scrambled eggs etc without pans to wash....................

I loved my microwave. :)

PS I cooked meat as well, 9minutes to the pound if I remember correctly.

Still, when I return to the UK my first meal is a salmon steak (3 minutes) with a baked potato (4 minutes) and broccoli (3 minutes).

I can cook using oils and butter, but mostly I eat very simply. Nowadays I use my steamer more than the cooker or microwave, also very quick compared to boiling stuff to death on the cooker, nicer too.

The power in my Luxor home is so low that it takes 30 seconds to defrost one bread roll. Mind you at about midday I can cook a small jacket potato in 15 minutes, :)
