Hamza's House Festive mulled wineish....

Post by Who2 »

It's that time of the year again.
The mulled something.....
Delve deep into the spice boxes and hermitically sealed storage jars..
Order 2 dozen bottles of Red Obelisk.
Copious amounts of Sprite & 7Up.
5 kilos of Oranges.
I0 pkts of trendy Borough Wines Mulled Cider.
Cloves
Apples
Nutmeg
Cinnamon sticks
Vanilla Pods
Strawberries
Brown Sugar
1 x kitchen sink.....

My mulled Xmas wine lasts until the new year. it's only the flavour and strength that alters and refines.
Any old donated spirit will suffice including dregs of Stella & Desperados.
Keep chucking in bits of this and that, honey, molasses more wine of course, stud the oranges with cloves all over.

It's like my Belsen Soup over the days it just gets better & better....
The reason for the mulled cider packets is I picked up the wrong packets should have got the mulled wine but with this recipe really anything goes.....
Just don't let it boil just simmmmmerrrr..... 8)

:lv I am sure that your cosy home smells fantastic these days. :lv

Is the 7Up or Sprite for when you get thirsty?

Last year, I added chili pods, liquorice root and melted chocolate to my Gløgg - that was gooood! :P

Well I must say I am pleasantly pleased with the ongoing mulled....?
Having past the stages of red, white, brandy, stella, desperadoes and
pertaining mainly to my mistake with the 'trendy east london mulled Cider sachets..
It's evolved into quite an amazing mulled alcohol thingy an excellent mulled stella 100% improvement on their 1897 original recipe.....8)

he's an apiarist...
Pss: A culinary tip! If it should boil losing it's alcohol content quickly add another bottle of red wine..

I was born in Beeford. The Tiger pub was on the corner at the entrance to the village. Some sort of Orange and Black stripe theme going on there perhaps ?
My emergency god parents were both Indian Doctors, "Muckle" and "Bee". I kid you not....
Our Garden attracts loads of bee's all year round, we have quite a lot of flowers, both wild and cultivated ones.

I should set up a "hive" perhaps ? When it comes to smoking out the Bee's to gather the honey, I always have something to hand... :cg

Does your cousin have any Apis dorsata Who2 ?

Did you ever meet up with him? If not, you really should go down to Winchester for the day (only an hour on the train from Waterloo) and meet him and see where he lives. 'Brother' and 'St. Cross' may give a 'religious' impression but, believe me, they are all far from sainted monks that live there.
