A Farmers' Market..
I came up with this idea last night!
A monthly farmer's market at a locally known hotel.
I already have a few ideas for quality local produce including organic Duck and Pork products.
I know a lady who makes great cheeses and preserves, another who makes great cakes, also a baker but am looking for more.
So, if anybody out there can recommend good quality produce, please post them on here and I will
get in contact...'cheers....
Ps: My homemade fermented Sriracha sauce is to die for....

Re: A Farmers' Market..
So, after our weekly 'brainstorm they my mates think, it's a great idea.
Cider, Worcestershire sauce, pâté de foie de poulet au cognac, which we sampled today.
'Pot plants was a great idea, I can grow them !......'frozen pre-cooked gourmet meals,,,,,,
'The World is our Oyster, but they ain't available.
Oh!.... just thought, Port & honey from those nuns over in the desert, So keep those ideas coming...
I'll try that Luxor swap or buy my husband site...
Ps: Over the years I have tasted some pretty good home-made delicacies here in the backwoods!
Ps: If anybody can make 'gypsy tart I'll buy the lot vanilla fudge a close second...

Some really nice cheese, perhaps wenkies would be prepared to open a little stall there once a month. Save the ice cream being melted on the way over. Great idea Who can't wait.

You've been talking about growing your own mushrooms for donkeys years. I'm surprised you've not already been there, done that, and got the T.shirt.Who2 wrote: Ps: I'm considering renting next door to start a mushroom farm, easy peasy all the spawns available on-line.

Don't know who made it but the Lemon curd went down a storm at the Ace fundraiser.

Lemon curd is easy to make too, and keeps for up to 3 weeks in the fridge. Homemade curd tastes wonderful in a lemon meringue pie!

Why don't you post your recipes Ruby Slippers so that those who want to make their own can, or even if Who does manage to get his market up and running you could make some and sell it there.

Re: A Farmers' Market..
I did try growing mushrooms here once, but did it in the garden, to hot I fear then the spores went rotten in the fridge.
This time I will use dark rooms with the floors covered in a growing substrate and old tree trunks....
Keeps me out of mischief anyhow....

Re: A Farmers' Market..
Ideas! & Participants required...
As the mushroom farm is still a fermenting idea! and the currant batch of Sriracha takes time to ferment.
I'm going to sell abiat 'White cats, all ages short or long haired,
blue eyed or yellowed eyed even a couple of 'mutt & jeff deaf ones....
So going cheap, to good homes all proceeds to Ace Animal Charity.
"sort them out where you like"
A sample:
'Titch will be available to view on the day and too 'ooo & cooo about her.
Ps: Titch is deaf, 'titch sleeps in the vegetable rack...
Pss: Pregnant ones available upon request..

Re: A Farmers' Market..
What about lavender oil… if they grow lavender over there - maybe someone could make those perfumed drawer liners - or lavender-filled little embroidered squares of Egyptian cotton. Good luck with the market

Re: A Farmers' Market..
Changing it to Artisan Market does seem to be a much more all inclusive title if you are going to include art and craft stalls as well as food.
It will be interesting to see how it all works out for those involved. I hope photographs will be taken and shared afterwards.
