One blind baked pastry case
1 small tin of evaporated milk
10 ounces of dark soft muscovado sugar (I generally mix 6ozs muscovado with 4ozs soft light brown sugar, but the choice is yours)
Method:
Mix the sugar and milk with a mixer until they are soft and pale.
Tip into the pastry case and place on the top shelf of the oven which has been preheated to gas Mark 7.
Cook for 10 - 15 minutes until set. Watch that it doesn't burn!
Leave to cool - then serve with whipped cream.

How big a pastry case for the amounts quoted?Ruby Slippers wrote:One blind baked pastry case

Approximately an 8" case, Hepzi, but a fairly deep one too. About 11/2" (one and a half) inches deep. Are you going to try it out? If anyone does, please post comments. If something goes wrong, post that too. Mine have always turned out well, but my son hasn't had any success yet, although I'm pretty sure it's because he uses half a large tin of evaporated milk instead of a small one.

Thanks for the update. I'm not likely to be trying it, but I saw it as an important detail that was missing.

Don't worry, none of those ingredients are available here in Luxor.
