Which Textbook?

Post by Miriamkhalifa » Tue Mar 04, 2008 3:36 pm

I am studying a bit of egyptian arabic on the side, and I use the book

"Colloquial arabic of Egypt".

I am quite happy with it. problem is I am past half way and I wonder if any of you have tips on textbooks, both beginner and advanced? I need to maintain what I learn.

:read:

"One band, two oil barrels, three chords, four dreams, five lies, six ties, seven deadly sins and eight ways to stay alive. They know who you are, they know where you live, they're the Kaizers Orchestra~"

I have been using the linguaphone course as it has the CD text books to read written arabic from and other learning text, I know it is a bit on the steep side but I managed to get a second hand lot off ebay for only £30 the lot it was with the tapes and not CD but still I have learnt a lot from them even started reading and writing from them.

Now find it much easier to translate certain text and beacuse you read it the language side tends to stick!!
