I know Luxor Medical Centre gets mixed reviews, but I have to say my experience yesterday couldn’t be bettered. It wasn’t an emergency, I wanted to see a GP and didn’t have a prebooked appt. I chose to go here even though my usual doctor of choice is Dr Boutross at Habu, who I think is excellent, and I have every confidence in him. However I didnt want to wait till the evening surgery, even less did I want to sit squashed in his tiny waiting room for probably at least half an hour with sick people with heaven knows what illnesses breathing coughing and spluttering next to me along with several members of their family accompanying them (or actually carrying them in, as often in the past). Basically, I just felt too ill to be with other ill people!
As I said, I didn’t have an appt at LMC, but was seen by a GP within minutes after filling in a basic information sheet, and explaining that No I didn’t have travel insurance.
The check on my health and questions asked by the doctor was extremely thorough, and lasted about 15 mins. On leaving I was charged 80LE, compared with Dr Boutross who charges 100LE (although worth every LE, I have no complaint whatsoever about him personally, purely the surroundings, and the limited time for appts)
Im not writing this review to get people to change their doctor, Im just saying that , purely for convenience and comfort’s sake, LMC is worth considering.
