A very attractive venture, going by the website. I might try to show some of my art there in the future, when I have a bigger portfolio, and am next in town.

Why do artists always paint big pictures, I mean who has walls that big ?
Plus why do they think a few hours worth of work is worth fortunes ?
It took me years to learn to cook, if it takes me 5 hours to cook a meal, is it worth
$15,000 dollars is is it f*ck.
Artists are really up their own backsides,...
When I was having a relationship with a sculptress at Maidstone Art College Hockney was also there
learning his trade, plus chasing young boys around..... 8) 'art fart!

Artists are really up their own backsides,..
....or occasionally someone else's

As you well know, size, or time spent daubing, has nothing to do with with the intrinsic worth of a painting.

It's what price someone is prepared to pay to have it hanging on their wall....a reflection, presumably, of the pleasure they get in looking at it. And some art connoisseurs have deep pockets

Who2. Thanks. Is the gallery connected with the university/Fine arts discipline that has produced a few radical public artists/graffitists in the past years. Its amazing the sophistication of their art on the facebook site. Good on them in a part of Egypt that gets little public money and no political interest.

I wonder whether the 5 star hotels (if any left) couldn't display some of their objects (for no commission or reasonable commission - no hope) or direct their residents in their direction (for no commission or reasonable commission - no hope). To expect the Supreme Antiques or Supreme Touristes to help would be delusional but that could be a good thing. Without their 'involvement' there is a better chance of success.

Putting these objects in arcades alongside awful Ramses II stuff wouldn't work. Technology in using cylinders to package it and insurance to cover it (an industry that doesn't exist in Egypt) might help. I hope they do really well but they might need 4 star tourists who aren't fat drunk semi naked Russians who dribble - or worse. Galleries in Cairo (which tourists don't go to anyway because they dribble, no not the galleries) could be a longshot.

Thanks.
