Omar Market
Went to Omar Market this morning and was served by a guy I had never seen before. Bought some cheese, clearly marked 24.50Le, a sliced loaf and two small bottles of yoghurt drink. Took them to the checkout and he said that's 50le, I asked to see the receipt and he wouldn't show me,I then asked how much the drinks, 5le each says he, then I dont want them, he said the cheese was 34.50 I pointed out that it was marked 24.50, eventually got the receipt and it was for 38.75. This is admittedly the first time I have had problems there and I will make sure that I report this guy to the Manager when I see him. But meanwhile beware.

Re: Omar Market
It did happen quite frequently a few years back and did happen to me on a few occasions, since the opening of KZ ive never visited Omar's and by the looks of it many others dont too.

Re: Omar Market
As stated above, it is not the first time this has happened. We have not been in there for 3 years and find everything we want elsewhere with itemised bills.

Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Re: Omar Market
Not that I want to necessarily defend the Omar Market, but to be fair, I'm sure that we've always had itemised bills from there. OK, in Arabic, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what the prices relate to.
Re: Omar Market
Which guy was it? There was a guy on the till the other day that is normally sitting in the office. I go in there every day and have never had a problem but they know me and know that I would kick off if they ever tried anything like that with me, they dont even let anyone push in front of me in the queue.

Re: Omar Market
Since I have been shopping in Omar's on and off for the past 11 years I would imagine that they also "know me" too. I agree with Teddyboy, it probably is just one bad apple and rather than kicking off I will make it my business to have a quiet word with the Manager when he is in there. But thought I would mention it on the forum as a warning to take care.
Happy days Keefy when there was only Omar's to shop in, I can remember how thrilled I was when I first discovered it. How Luxor has changed.

Re: Omar Market
Agree with the above, in the early days one fort against the cockroaches and always stayed well away from the 'meat counter.
But with 40's,KZ & Ragabs why bother ?

Re: Omar Market
It was ''glee time'' in those bad old days, walking down along those tightly packed shelves then suddenly coming across a new, albeit, small selection of imports. Like tinned Heinz soups, TAKE THEM ALL!, and various other little delights. From day one I always bought my meat, steak, from there, and I read all the warnings about not to, but I never had bad meat once in all the years shopping there. As a matter of fact, the meat was very good quality, no pyramids of uneatable meat around the plates edge, unlike the highly priced meat I used to buy from 40's and KZ. Thankfully now we have the opportunity to have it brought over from Hurghada once a month. I brought back with me from Thailand a 2.5 kilo cooked joint of prime ham, my freezer is now full of containers of thick pea and ham soup, just like me mam used to make, happy days are here again.
