Well despite fines I haven't seen one micro bus here on the west bank where the passengers were wearing masks. I walked up to the police check point the other day, all the police outside, no masks, buses passing no one stopped.
Yet I got the ferry across today and 95 percent of those on the ferry had masks on. I couldn't believe it. Had a little walk about, all the passengers on the micro buses there were wearing masks together with the drivers. Taxi drivers and their passengers likewise.
So lets give a little cheer for those catching the ferry, maybe just maybe the fines are working in some places. Oh and I actually saw some people spraying their hands when they got on the ferry. Well done.
A little cheer.

Due to the lack of education about the virus, coupled with people's denial, it's going to be a long drag back to normal, even moreso when the rules are being policed by people inthe job for money only.

Well I wouldn't exactly say that "normality" is being achieved anywhere at the moment.
Have you any idea of what the salary is of a local police man is MT?
