Ex-pats in Luxor in a meeting with the Governor

Post by DJKeefy »

General Hafez spoke on the idea of forming a committee of Egyptian officials and members of ex-pats community to establish a constant way of communication between the governor and the ex-pats.

The proposed committee will be meeting weekly to solve problems and discuss ideas and will hold a monthly meeting with the governor.

General Hafez seems to have his hand on the ball. If all that he suggests transpires it could, at long last, lead to a solver of problems that the tourist industry needs here in Luxor. I just hope that these meetings do not turn towards, and get over run to the point of saturation with personal problems as has happened in the past. A good vid, but it would of been interesting to follow the questions and responses that followed. And before anyone says, yes I could of gone myself and taken part, but sadly I have become very disillusioned by these meetings in the past which I attended, so do not feel the need to partake any further. But I wish the new comity every success. It will be interesting to see who the members are.

I take it that, from the above 'press' release DJKeefy, you did not bother to show up,.............. but then again, I don't blame you.

It seems that good old Gen Hafez is still around,......therefore direct access for one or two of us on here,.....and a cup of tea to boot.

Bring back [now] General Hafiz rtd, he'd sort out the Tourist Police and the trouble, trouble is they would have nothing to do, being the lack of tourists to police...

Ps: He was head of the International Police Force when we were in Bosnia, not a lot of people know that!

No, General Hafez is not the Gov'nor but he does seem to have been given the task of leading this whole initiative to solve Luxor's problems by the Gov'nor.

Very good luck to him :tk
