Just what Luxor needs another wall.

Post by Bombay »

Say good bye to the view on St Joseph St. Despite assurances from the Luxor Governors office to stop this and look at alternatives the metal fence has today been removed and a 4 meter wall is to be constructed.
I assume the trees will go if in the way.

If you were to provide some pictures we might be able to judge the problem (if any).

Why do you think there is not a problem I am sure there isn't for anyone who does not use the Street or operate a business opposite the "wall" the pictures are on the L4U FB page. May be Keefy can post them I have tried.

:( If there is no way back, then I hope that at least the trees will not be in the way.

What a bad decision, it will look awful. I used to like to watch them in an evening playing football. It will look soulless with a wall.

Probably the wall is to deflect some of the noise away from the nightclub/Discoteque that will be built the other side of it. Thats why its so high.

Why do you think I think there is not a problem? I am sitting on the fence, hedging my bets.

:tk Could the reason for this latest brick wall be because there is increasingly less room available at the others for bashing ones head against?

It seems to me that with so many twists and turns in the political state of the country, the electric and water cuts etc. so many people feel that they are banging their heads against a brick wall that there must be a demand for more.

Of course, but this will not make it easier to see the light. :sd

So I have managed to get the wall stopped for a short time to see what can be done.

Get them to use glass blocks, they get their wall, you can still see the trees from the forest, if you squint a bit. :up
