Hm, well yes, and while you are sat there on the naughty chair, you might be able to answer this question. I have noticed else where on this forum that a number of the balloons seem to be coming over the river, and dare I say it, landing in various parts of the city.

From what I understand, the government issued a rule some years ago now, that each day a person would be sent from the civil aviation authority at Luxor airport to ensure that the correct weather conditions were in force before flights could take off.

The question is, has this person been sacked/murdered/buried alive/kidnaped/brown enveloped/ ............or even worse given free booze via the Dr, on a daily basis. :wi .

P.S. - You may remember, I wrote on this very subject back in 2010. :wi :wi :wi .

I do indeed remember - I rather fancy I gave chapter and verse about that time describing the routine at the only Ballooning Airport in the world. :up

Tomorrow I shall write more on this subject. Good night and sleep well, Inshallah.

I realise that Tianaman Square is not in Luxor, all I was commenting on was why it was brought up on Living in Luxor, be it the face of adversity or not. surely there are many things ascertaining to Luxor that could be referenced? Talking about the face of adversity I was sent an e mail yesterday from a made up address, (Address not known when i replied) containing a picture supposedly of the Luxor Bomber in a blue bag, which is going around the internet, what sick people there are around. Maybe when I pass on they would like to take my head and stick it on a broom handle and place it outside my local coffee shop.

Sometime this week my internet will be going off so I will not be able to post for a while,it may even be August, just for the Sum Misers, no I am paid up until the end of September, its just I have pressing things to attend to, and its not my trousers.

Ah, I see MT. I'm sorry I thought you were indulging in friendly banter, my mistake.

However just to be clear this is how my mistake occurred.

Seriously now, the reason that I mentioned Tianaman Square was with reference to the subject of the original post "Re. Karnak Bomb Attempt" which whilst under discussion had broadened into appropriate behaviour in the face of adversity. During the discussion some members thought it appropriate to react to adversity in different ways, for example Bullet Magnet wrote "When faced with complete disaster. Total Defiance is the ONLY recourse... "

The Tianaman Square stand-off has become recognised world-wide as a demonstration of just that, whatever the root subject.

It immediately sprang to my mind, and probably others and I really didn't think I needed to enlarge my post. I can be as guilty as the next person of having an occasional ramble, but by and large I prefer to be brief for the enjoyment of the reader. :D

Therefore when you made a subsequent one line post asking "Where is Tianaman Square in Luxor?" I thought you were joking, until the start of your post of this morning when you said "I realise that Tianaman Square is not in Luxor, all I was commenting on was why it was brought up on Living in Luxor, be it the face of adversity or not. surely there are many things ascertaining to Luxor that could be referenced?"

Yes, there may be better examples with relevance to Living in Luxor, but I really didn't think there was a stronger one appertaining to Luxor, but I would be very happy if you could supply an example. :up

I think the Tianaman Square you are referring to is the one in China, where the young man defiantly stood in front of a military tank. I was joking really MD, but wondered how you would take it... Seems like the joke backfired on me! Oh Well...........

Never mind MT as I said I originally thought you were joking and went with it - no hard feelings?

Mind you it wouldn't surprise me if the Chinese help us out we have our own Tianaman Square!
