Property scam - Hurghada

Post by crewmeal » Wed Sep 16, 2015 6:43 am

Looks like the Daily Mail have invested their time in an Egyptian property scam.

My advice would be never part with an penny until you have seen a property. Then get yourself a reputable lawyer.

Yes OB true, but at least with the haystack, you know one day you will find that needle, it may not be a good one, or the one required for the job in hand,........but a needle all the same. :wi .

This brings back memories, the same thing happened in Portugal after their revolution. Years later, mushrooming at a half finished tourist village on the coast, I met a family looking for the villa they had bought and paid for years ago. We found it together as I knew the site, they took some photos and went back to Germany - - thats all they received, photos .. the money and the titles were gone - - -

I think it would be a winner if I opened a sympathy card shop, only problem I would have is keeping up with the demand, and that's just in Luxor.

This sort of thing happens quite often throughout the world, but then again perhaps the Daily Mail journalists could give a much more sensational scoop if it was to investigate such deals nearer the so called more reputable cities of the world,.........say London.

Not a stones throw from where I live near the Tower of London, a Far East developer in 2013 announced in Singapore a new development known as Royal Mint Gardens was to be built. On the first day of this announcement 75% was sold to Singapore clients, within a month 90% sold. The price for a studio flat was £465,000 (we all know how large those places are). Each potential buyer paid 20% deposit. They are now being RE-SOLD to potential buyers in the U.K., at an inflated price, even though not one brick has yet been laid by this first time developer in the U.K., in other words off-plan.

Seems to me that one or two of the 20% purchase clients have visited London, and the site, as the Internet seems to prove. What they have discovered is that immediately behind this site, are railway lines where a train passes every minute at peak time, and in operation 20 hours a day. If you think that is bad, well, the main Docklands Light Railway into Bank runs directly a couple of metres below the proposed development every three minutes, into a tunnel which must be encased before any development even begins.

My only interest is that I would soon like to sell my place, that has a private garden, which is more than what can be said for so called Royal Mint Gardens, which is now expected to be completed by September 2019,.....................I wonder.

 All I can say on that point is that A-four does, on the odd occasion, like to rip the odd post and poster apart so....

No Zoo, like Major Thom, I'm a South Yorkshire boy.

Strange you should mention Jack the Ripper, they have very recently opened a museum dedicated to him, very near my home. It was supposed to have been a museum dedicated to the women's rights, and their suffering in the Victorian Era and World War 11. They conned the local authorities, but am pleased to say I along with others are seeking to get it closed. Years ago local residents managed to force a pub in Commercial Street to change its name from Jack the Ripper, so along with a few celebrities we have lined up, I hope we shall be equally successful.

How does an English lawyer get licensed to practice in Egypt? Doesn't she have to have studied Egyptian law?
