Re: Directions
It is just opposite Vodafone! On Television Street. I do not remember if anything is written in English. The entrance is downstairs.

Re: Directions
Everything above the second floor (about 4 floors more) is still under construction and is just a concrete shell. That might help to identify it.

Re: Directions
Ease up on the substances my dear Doctor,
as it is a very long street, especially so if you've never or rarely been to Luxor, especially not that street, especially not to Vodaphone. They may just know the street for Vodaphone, plus Ragab's doesn't particularly stand out compared to the bright red of the phone shop.

Re: Directions
very strange mind who2; why whould asking simple directions be a wind up?????
thanks for all who did reply; i found it in the end
anyone else who might need the information can follow my instructions below going from vodafona main shop.
keep vodafone on your right; follow the road for about 10 minutes untill you come to another main road that runs down to a place called medina: follow this road until you come to the end of it: this is where medina park is; turn right: pass a supermarket called omar supermarket; just follow this road till you come to a main road called tv street: ragabs supermarket will be in front of you.

Re: Directions
If you stand with your back to Vodaphone, Ragebs is directly opposite. I am confused. Could you be meaning a different vodaphone shop somewhere down by St Joseph end of town?

Re: Directions
I think you have gone to another supermarket, if you have gone up Medina past Omar Market you are I'm sorry to say miles from Ragab.
The main Vodafone shop on TV street is directly opposite Ragab's.
However if you are new here a walk round finding different places is always helpful, just hope you didn't get a taxi to take you on your voyage of discovery. Good luck.

Re: Directions
Definitely a wind up. That is a circular route all the way back to the start point

Follow Jonny's directions: down TV, to the right pass Fourties to Medina and back to square one.carrie wrote:I think you have gone to another supermarket, if you have gone up Medina past Omar Market you are I'm sorry to say miles from Ragab.

Observation is a wonderful thing..
'You look but you don't see.
Just watching The Egyptian 1955, a cast of thousands. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046949/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
The opening bit where they find the baby in the reeds is the channel to banana island, that's the real banana island..
Ps: mind you most is filmed in Death Valley Nevada as was Star Wars & Spartacus."Non multum sciunt.

In the USA they frequently use a taxi to cross the street rather than dice with the traffic.Who2 wrote:Like I said "should av gone to specsavers"

And back in 1979 my sales manager arranged a taxi from Intourist Hotel to National Hotel, a distance of about 20 yards on foot but a lot further by taxi on the one way system in central Moscow. There was 2 feet of snow on the ground that Easter but I was in my usual sandals and no socks.
For the return journey he went again by taxi but I walked those few yards and arrived at the Intourist several minutes before him. I guess that he was doing it for his expenses!

Re: Directions
you are absolutely right; i went around a full circle; i thought it was a long way.
the funny thing is that i followed the same route back in reverse
i was going to travel to karnak from luxor; times of the train and the length of time it takes to get there would be helpful: thank you
