Its a great life to be honest, today caught up with Ice Road Truckers. Its getting harder to comprehend the outside world!!! So I just let it float by....

Is that mysterious way or peculiar way?

I cannot believe, my mind is flabbergasted, You really watch Ice Truckers ? bet you love those gezzers chopping down those mighty pines one handed with chainsaws, 'life is weird!....
Or one could always watch Eastenders, for a touchstone of reality, I suppose ? 'be lucky!

Sadly from time to time here I've been FORCED to watch Ice Road Truckers in REAL life as they've barreled down iced over roads. BORING as all get out and how that show ever got filmed is beyond me. We've also got guys here who gut fish, cut firewood, cut open oysters, dig clams ... hope the TV crews don't get wind of them ...... be Best Sellers! :urm: (Not)

Have to disagree with all the negatives on this one. IRT is an interesting and informative program for those that are interested in how these people manage their jobs in extreme conditions. Same cane be said about the chainsaw gangs that have their own show, fighting the elements and hostile land, bidding for contracts that just about keep them and their workers afloat during hard competitive times. These kinds of programs show the likes of us that there is a world out there and not always a comfortable one for some. Your list LLL has been regularly highlighted on the NHK World channel and very interesting they are. Life should not always revolve around what just interests one individual.

Also try Outback Truckers, a world of what people have to go through to provide for their families. Has with Flying wild in Alaska, and Building Alaska, we think we have many trials and tribulations, but its far worse for others.

Been there done that and the REAL truckers are not at all like the ones portrayed. They're smelly non-shaven rough rude crude hard drinkers wearing the same clothes day in and out with minimal education beyond knowing how to drive a truck. There is no enlightened conversation, as many civil words as teeth and their demeanor is as per people who are used to spending an inordinate amount of time alone and usually preferring it that way. Social graces don't come into the equation. So - I'm kinda saying the people on the show have been "cinemafied" so they're palatable for a TV audience.
