That photograph brings back such memorable happy days. The hill where those ladies are, is still around today, it's man made from around 1890, and a fantastic place to be at dawn to view Hatchepsuit's Temple.

The white building far bottom right was Sinbad's supermarket, (sugar was 30pts, and a glass bottle of coke was 20pts, though the tourist, if I remember rightly always paid one LE, no matter where ever on the WB they were, and was a serious crime if anyone sold for less.) Follow the road from right to left at that point, then you pass the transport cafe where the bus driver had breakfast while his tourists visited the nearby temple. Further along on the same side a couple of small alabaster 'factories', though the best in that area was the one on the corner of the road as it swung right down to the temple.

So many very special people lived there when this picture was taken, which I suspect was taken in either early November or late January, and the time would have been around 4 to 4-30 p.m. Sad to say most of those people I knew so well in that area are long dead and buried, though I am eternity grateful for such happiness which was part of my life there.
