Water up again.

Post by Dusak »

I posted a few weeks ago that the cost of the mains water had risen from the single to low double figure charges per month to 55Le per month. Yesterday I paid my water bill it had risen to 210Le for the month. I have always had just the one meter for my water for the two flats, so the water charge has always been for those two flats. But now the new water bill has been separated to say flat 1 and flat 2, each being charged 105 Le. Telling my taxi driver this today, he told me that his mother had had to pay 167Le for this month for just the one flat. These folk are really going to struggle just attempting to survive shortly and its bad enough for them now.

On contacting the water man today for an explanation, this is how the increase was explained. ''You didn't get a bill in December, so that is why it is showing double.''

''Yes I did receive and paid a bill in December as I have it in front of me.''

''Sorry, you paid no water in January.''

''Yes I did as I have that bill in front of me.''

''OK, you will pay nothing in February.''

''Yes I have, that is why I'm talking to you. And if, as you say, there is no bill for a particular month, then the double price would be 110Le, not 210Le.''

''Oh, Idunno.'' See what you get next month and contact me again if its wrong.''

I think that I will put it down to another one of those loses in life that we now come across so regularly here.

Have you considered turning Dusak Towers into a hotel...thus avoiding all taxes , electricity & water bills for a year? :up

The problem still remains concerning red tape. You may remember that I had to give up my extensive plans for The Temple of Dusak which got a lot of pre-opening publicity on Trip Adviser but even that could not save the day. :(
