I disagree. It was clearly a bit of a shock to most gathered in St. George's Chapel, but it was totally appropriate and a refreshing change from all the sterile stuffy ones that have been given at past Royal Weddings.
And quite a few million who watched I bet

Still....if you like that kind of thing.

I prefer the more "sterile stuffy"approach myself......at royal weddings.

Wasn't the cello player wonderful!
Indeed....as was Elin Manahan Thomas' soprano solo as the bride processed in. Exquisite....and unusual.

Or a video message of congratulations from Trump.

Perhaps they'll get that at the wedding breakfast.

I feel like I've been cheated. I was SO looking forward to today - going shopping in a deserted town centre;no endless queues at the tllls; being able to get one of the "comfy" chairs in the M&S restaurant; no toddlers having tantrums while everybody except me is at home watching The Wedding. How wrong can you be -seems like thousands of others had the same idea!

Or a Cilla Black type surprise at the alter "Well Megan, you thought that Donald Trump was back in the White House watching your wedding, surprise! surprise!"

I thought the standard of broadcasters was very poor. I don't like Huw Edwards at the best of times, when he reads the news he seems to scowl at you. As for that Nana Mingechetty on BBC Breakfast who screeches at you, well they should have put her back in her cage after Breakfast. Then you have Kay Burley who loves the sound of her own voice and no one can get a word in edgeways. That just about leaves Scholefied in ITV. The less said him the better. Who was the Sky commentator in the chapel who pronounced "groom" as "grum"?

I'm at odds to think who would have covered it better.

Elton performed at the do in St George's Hall

I'm with you regarding Kay Burley, boy does she think she is the centre of attention, on Sky we had all the female news presenters gushing and clucking like mother hens with Burley leading the flock.

There's not anyone around these days with much "gravitas"

David Dimbleby? (his late father was pretty good at this sort of thing)

Or maybe another David.....Attenborough ? He could have commented on the exotic plumage of the increasingly rare British aristocracy.

And where did the BBC dig out that Julie....Viscountess Hitchingbrooke?? A midwestern yank who married the heir to the earl of Sandwich and now considers herself an expert on American-English etiquette.

She seems to feel Meghan might find using a knife & fork difficult. Oh dear.....

I have to agree with Hepzi and WI, we watched it and thought it too was a great day for all. The Wedding certainly turned normal Royal Weddings on their heads. We thought the dress, was exactly what Harry said "Stunning" and so was the Duchess of Sussex. Good look to the both of them. I wonder what the average US Citizen thinks to them having an actual Royal among them and not a bird nested numpty pretender... ITV with Phillip Schofield did a brilliant coverage of the whole occasion, and brought both humour and humility to the day.

I didn't watch the wedding itself but I did catch The Windsors Royal Wedding Special on Channel Four.

Absolutely hilarious!
