I went along the Ramla the other evening and I have not seen the Nile so high for a long time. Despite the building up of the banks there, the water is lapping over the top.
I know that area used to flood quite often in the past.
The ground water level is also high, large puddles are appearing inland and the canal, that was filled in some time ago, behind Gezira Gardens hotel is filling up again.
