Sudan vs Karnak

Post by Who2 »

Now I'm watching Hercule Poirot in Death on the NIle. 2004.
It says they are on SS Karnak even with the life belts being rechristened.

But they are on SS Sudan, my eye for detail is 100%. Plus I have been up and down on it
3 times and enjoyed many a cocktail aboard whilst docked in Luxor.

So back to the film.... 8)

You watching that again G? I loved the location jumps as the director chose them to suit his schedule but not the real timeline of the story. Oops, did I give something away?

To me the Peter Ustinov's version is the best especially with Bet Davies and Maggie Smith. I wasn't a fan of Murder on the Orient Express with Kenneth Branagh, too many computer related graphics. No doubt when this version of Death on the Nile is released it will be the same. I wonder if they actually used The Sudan in that version or a studio mock up.

Albert Finney's version of Murder on the Orient Express was the best IMO.

I had no idea that the whole Poirot TV series had been released by BritTV on Youtube. Downloaded Death on the Nile for watching, cheers G.
