We are traveling to Belgium end of next month and will take our cat with us.
Does anyone have a cat carrier for sale. I went already to Arkwright but he keeps on saying we'll have some next week so ...
Our cat weighs 5 kg and I am not sure if a little box will be sufficient.

Would ACE or the Vet Clinic opposite the Emilio have one for sale or hire? If not they could probably point you in the right direction.

Re: LOOKING FOR A CAT CARRIER
To transport cats by plane they have to be a certain type of cat carrier you need to check with the airline what they accept.

Ace doesn't sell , just for rent. In Egyptair they laughed and said just a carton box
I've been adviced that the best is a plastic one with iron door.

If you have it stuffed you can take it in your hand luggage.

Update: finally they arrived in Arkwright. They have several sizes. Problem solved.
Meanwhile I found also another little shop that said they will have them. It's the bird and fish shop in a sidestreet of Televisionstreet.
This side street is at the A one bakery. Although still waiting to see the first one. Some more patience and we'll get there.
Thanks for you who thought with me

Could you put a fish in a cat carrier? All the water would run out, unless its a new form of meals whilst in transit cat carrier.

Re: LOOKING FOR A CAT CARRIER
Are you taking the cat as hand baggage or is it going in the hold? My friend wants to take two dogs back eventually one a Peke which Egypt Air said can go as hand baggage the other a Doberman has to go in the hold but he is having problems finding out which planes have heated holds. Man from American Express said he would go to the airport with my friend to make sure the flight was OK for the Doby but it's a bit late if you get there and it's not suitable.

Re: LOOKING FOR A CAT CARRIER
One of my friends there says she can remember when Egyptair used to let people take their livestock, ie, goats, chickens etc on the domestic flight from Cairo to Luxor. My mind can not get round it! where did they sit? in the overhead racks, in the aisles, in the toilets???
One good thing I can think would have come from it would be the goats could eat the copious amounts of rubbish that people leave behind on the floors, seats toilets etc when they depart the plane!
