Black..the new brown !

Post by jj »

It's a recurrent theme from me
Just been out in the yard digging through the bin to retrieve the packaging from the hair dye I used earlier, just to double check that it was actually sold as dark brown and yes it says on the box dark brown
Dark brown my eye... it's black
You may think that there's not much difference between the two but instead of looking like an olive skinned hotty I now just look JAUNDICED.

It isnt just me then. I got a mid brown colour a few weeks ago, now ny daughter says all I am missing is the thick black eyeliner to look like a true Goth.

A few washings should bring out the true color. Mine is just the opposite. I pick a light red and it comes out blonde. Daughter has died her hair black with blue highlights. Looks nice but I think her complexion is too light for black. But, I didn't get a vote.

I have that problem also but I use copper or auburn or mahonany, a few washes with Head and Shoulders I am told will bring it out.

So when the packet says dark brown it means black

Whats the secret code word for dark brown then... in the past I've found that a lot of the so called browns come out as a purple/plum colour

Can't live with it like this, I usually put streaks in but that would make it look worse.
Head and shoulders here I come

Do as the instructions say............do a strand test first............if you think its to dark.............next time leave the hair colouring on for 5mins less.

Strand test you're having a laugh I'd never find the strand it was on !
It takes me all my time dabbing it behind my ear several times a day then leaving it for 48 hours to see if I'm allergic by which point I'm really fed up and just desperate to slap it on

Serves me right really.....husband has declined to comment .. just catch him looking at it every now and again with a bemused expression...probably for the best that he stays schtumm

It depends what you base colour is jj but, yes,Dark Brown is black so you would need a mid brown. Now you have it black though t's going to be more difficult........................any chance of going to a hairdresser to sort it out ?
