Age of Aquarius

Post by John Landon »

Taken from that well known song by the 5th dimension..

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars.

The more observant amongst us may have noticed something in the early hours this morning... :up

Aquarius was covered by 5th Dimension. I love the version from the film Hair. In the film a young man is drafted into the army during the Vietnam war. He comes to New York where he hooks up with a horde of hippies. Taking him under their wing he falls for one of the girls. However in order for him to spend more time with the girl one of the Peace and Love hippy dudes goes to the army in his stead. The real soldier was supposed to come to the barracks and swap places however the hippy dude goes off to war and gets killed.it is very sad.

The musical also features other catchy tunes such as 'Good Morning Starshine.' It is a musical from the Hippy era and yet some lines are prophetic such as 'I fashion my future on films in space.' This being long before the internet.

"GOOD Morning Starshine. The Earth says hello. You twinkle above us. We twinkle below."

"When the Moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars. And peace will guide the Planets and Love will steer the stars. This is the adorning of the age of Aquarius, The age of Aquarius, Aquarius.

Harmony and understanding. Sympathy and trust abounding. No more falsehoods and derisions. Golden living dreams and visions, mystic crystal revelations and the minds true liberation."
I
Great soundtrack...Even the Australian version.

Hippy-kiyah!

I'm a Scorpio, born under a black moon and all the numbers in my Birthday are prime numbers.

Talk about having the odds stacked against you ! :D

The 5th Dimension, they say that is where we are heading, but does the 5th dimension not already exist ?
Time and Space are insepearable, you cant have one without the other.. 8)

A Friend took this Image
on the evening of the 21st May. I saw it but was enjoying a moment of calm surrender in my garden listening to Pachebels cannon on my headphones, while the birds were singing.. Nice mix.. :br

Earbuds Horace... 8)

They give me crystal clear music, more so when I smile ( try it ) but also allow some background noise in.

Particularly useful for when SWMBO calls my name.. :tk

She and my Sister are the only ones that call me David, ( prior to that it was my parents )
everyone else calls me Dave, so when I hear the words David ! It usually means I am in some form of trouble. :cg

Like the Shepherds pie I helped make today.. 8)

Now you might think I'm weird or something but occasionally I enjoy being miserable, Pachebel's music certainly helps with the mood. Not saying it isn"t beautiful music it is.

Carrie,
I dont see Pachebels cannon as being miserable at all, its such a beautiful piece with so much depth to it.
As I watch the sky sometimes when listening to it, things seem to just move in synchronicity to the music.

This was the piece of Music J S Bach chose for his wedding.

Who2,
The Mayans say that .. "openings in the sky" They say their dead go into to the milky way and then watch over the earth from there.

Oddly enough they give no thought to Orion and Sirius.

Don't mean it's miserable music John, but it makes me feel sad. One Fine Day from Madam Butterfly, Hebrew Slaves Chorus, Rodriguez guitar concerto, just some of the others.

Sorry, I misinterpreted what you said Carrie. I have this version that I listen to. In My opinion the BEST version.

I love following the various instruments and that lovely repetitive back beat that stays constant throughout the tune.

First time I ever cried was watching A Night to Remember with my Dad, I was nine.
The second time was watching One Fine Day from Madam Butterfly, I was fifteen and stoned... 8)

Opera does not float my boat, all that screeching in Latin.. Ye gods..

Ballet I like Tchaikovsky especially, Swan Lake is particularly moving.
Greig, Bach, Beethoven, Debussy are among my favourite classical composers..

Berlin Philharmonic orchestras version of Canon is very nice Who2, Lovely.. I may have to concede after a few more comparisons.
