How many of you can remember the children's comics of your childhood, such as, The Dandy, The Beano, The Topper and The Beezer along with many, many more. Did you have favorite characters such has Minny the Minx, Desperate Dan, Dennis the Menace and Lord Snooty?

10:12 would have been when you left the pub after time at 10:00 and 10 minutes drinking-up time, plus the mandatory visit to the bog?

Comics were a big treat for me in those days Wizard.
So much so that it was my granny who bought them for me.
You have really resurrected happy memories for me with this topic.She would come over to our house every Thursday with sweets and comics for the 5 grandchildren.She used to bring me "Twinkle"and the occasional free gift with the comic generated much excitement.
I graduated to the "Bunty",then the "Melanie."
The boys got the "Wizard"and the "Topper"
I read them as well!!
Strange.but they were never interested in reading mine!
I recently bought my two wee granddaughters comics in the local supermarket.Cost me £7!!! For 2 comics!!!
At that price...they're still a treat!

Every Christmas the relatives from Scotland sent me and my brother yearly annual copies of "Our Wullie" and "The Broons." They came as hard copy books of cartoons. Quite looked forward to getting them for years. Quite a tradition.

They're still on the go LLL!
In fact I got my brother this years "Broons"book as part of his Christmas Present.
He's 52!!!
They enjoyed a massive revival a few years back with special editions of "Maw Broon's Cookbook."
Always enjoyed the goings on of the characters at "Glebe Street"much more than "Oor Wullie!"
Pure nostalgia.

The Broons were funny. Loved the big family. Similar to my own big family (my dad the youngest of 8, his dad one of 13 and his mom one of 13. Add spouses and kids to each of those numbers and OMG I was surrounded by Scottish characters!)
