World Book Day 2015
Today is World Book Day.
What are your reading habits?
If you are currently (OK not at this precise moment) reading a book, what is it's title and author, and what are your thoughts on it?

I've just finished Harper Smith's "The Seventh Scroll". Some of the Egyptology seems far-fetched, and there is a lot of gratuitous violence. I prefer Christian Jacq's approach to novels based on Ancient Egypt.HEPZIBAH wrote:Today is World Book Day.

Re: World Book Day 2015
I usually read three books at once, usually because I misplace them but I do tend to read rather alot.
May I recommend my desert island book ( besides the bible ) one The Tros of Samothrace by Talbot Mundy,
an excellent fellow with a dubious history and well worth the read I've read it more times than the Bible, much better advice….

Just finishing the third book of Ken Follets Century trilogy, spanning the period from the early 20th century to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Excellent!

Brian Yare, do you mean 'Wilbur Smith' by any chance?

Re: World Book Day 2015
Currently reading (again) "Witches Abroad"by Terry Pratchett!
A bit of light relief in this dull world of boring novels!!
God,all this pseudo-intellectual stuff that you're all reading is my idea of "hell!"
Who the hell are you gonna discuss it with?
Don't you have a sense of humour?
Boring trilogies?Om Seti..a nutty old woman who would've been dispensed to an asylum, had she not moved to Egypt?
Yeah...know I'm insulting a lot of you..but frankly my dears..I don't give a damn!!
Be happy,be positive..and start reading literature that actually makes you laugh!!
