I think TimeTraveller sums it up quite well apart from the Al Nour party are iirc with or talking to the new government and are with the roadmap.
Also from the people I have spoken to the general feeling is they don't expect Sisi to run for President.

Sorry Bombay, are Al Nour 'in' again? They were 'in' then they were 'out' and now they're 'in' again! Are they dancing the hokey kokey?

Re: Churches torched across Egypt in anti-Coptic violence
I can not be bothered to go back through this thread and quote Jewel, but Muslims are allowed to go into churches, as Jesus is a prophet, they revere him as well. As Jojo and I have just been touring the Holy Land we saw as many Muslims as any other religion inside the churches here.
I think you will find that all 3 books are extremely similar and all revere the same people to some degree or another.

You couldn't have said it better. Don't know how all books could be so similar yet turn out such antagonistic following groups........I think you will find that all 3 books are extremely similar and all revere the same people to some degree or another.

Re: Churches torched across Egypt in anti-Coptic violence
This was my understanding of the question:
But at least it is makrooh to enter churches unnecessarily, because the fact that the angels and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not enter the house in which there were images indicates that it is makrooh.
Moreover this being makrooh may reach the level of being haraam if entering the church will lead to any bad consequences such as if it means approving of the Christians’ shirk and their claim that Allaah has a wife and son, exalted be Allaah far above that. Or if entering the church is a sign of taking the Christians as friends and loving them, and so on.

It is like the use of imagery which is also forbidden in Islam.

Re: Churches torched across Egypt in anti-Coptic violence
National Public Radio of the US is reporting Human Rights Watch Egypt as saying there have been attacks on 43 churches, mainly in Upper Egypt. HRW states that there have always been tensions between Christians in Upper Egypt. However, in these recent cases, HRW states that the attacks were foreseeable and that the Government made no preparations. In some cases the police were notable for their absence. The clear meaning is that the government found the attacks useful in ‘confirming’ that terrorists were abroad in Egypt.

Having the Coptic Pope in the press conference announcing the coup may not have helped security for copts and went against the Copts demand that religion be be separated from politics. Better to have stayed above politics than tie your colors to the military.
