Egypt competes with world's unhappiest nations

Post by DJKeefy »

A report published by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network has listed Egypt as the 130th most happy nation out of 156 surveyed.

Egypt’s happiness rate dropped by 21.2 percent in comparison with 2005-2007, according to the 2013 World Happiness Report which was published in September.

According to the report, countries in the Middle East and North Africa have witnessed a decrease of nearly 60 percent in their “happiness rate.”

Denmark was listed as the happiest nation in 2013, followed by Norway and Switzerland.

The report made its assessment by looking at a number of factors, including life expectancy, GDP per capita, corruption, citizens’ perceived freedom to make life choices, and “social support.”

The report is the second of its kind released by a coalition of academic researchers on the behalf of the UN project.

Exactamundo D - whats the point of being 130th out of 156? Get a goal - shoot for 156 out of 156!!

Imagine the cheers and happiness when the goal is actually achieved! :)))

So that is how happiness is measured. :br

I met an Egyptian professor of psychiatry in Cairo. He had attended a conference in Denmark and after walking down the streets of Copenhagen had to ask his hosts, if someone had died. He had never seen so many serious faces before and nobody had smiled in the happiest country in the world.
