When I was going to Hurghada via the Desert Road, about 5 kilo from Luxor we passed a wall, in the middle of which was a great gate flanked by two large, what looked like minarets. The wall continued forming a square. The taxi driver told me that within the square was a very old church that had fallen into dis-repair.
I have seen it many times before but only this time have I wondered what it was.
Anyone know if it is an old church or what else lies behind those walls.
Why are things never as they really seem to be?
