Lifted this from my FB page.....
The colossal statue of Ramses II at Memphis. c 1200 B.C.
In the 19th century it was offered to the British Government- on the condition that they come and collect it.
With the statue weighing around 100 tonnes, the British baulked at the enormous cost of moving it and missed the opportunity.
Ramses remained where he lay - face down in a marsh - for another 67 years.

Re: Ramses II at Memphis
..And will continue to do so, until we have the technology to lift it and place it where we want it to be.
Never mind, quarring the stone and creating the statue..
..And we have not devolved eh ? Lost our abilty to create on a grand scale.. This has NOTHING to do with economics in that sense, although it has everything to do with Economics in another sense..
This is all the proof you need of Human devolution.. a Neglected Stautue.

There's a time for everyone, if they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn.

I much prefer it this way; you can get so close to admire the workmanship.
