Osiris on the move

Post by Distant Sun »

Interesting item on the BBC news site about a statue of Osiris in Manchester Museum that has been mysteriously turning circles

Theories on a postcard!

Wooden floors seems to be the favourite solution.

If it was structural and related to the building the other statue would be moving as well. Got to be spiritual :up

I heard about this around a year ago - it has taken the press a while to catch up. The statue does not move at night, as can be seen by the video, so if it were 'spiritual', surely the spirits would have continued spinning. It could be one of many things - is the statue magnetic, is the base rougher than others, so vibration could cause it to move? But one thing is certain, it will have probably brought more visitors to one of the best museums in Britain!
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!
