The Giza Pyramid Complex – Interactive Map

Post by Winged Isis »

The Giza Plateau is a plateau that is located in Giza, Egypt. The famous Giza Necropolis is located in this geographical area, which is characterized by a sandy, desert climate and terrain with little vegetation. Dominating the plateau and running in a southwest diagonal through the site are the three pyramids of the pharaohs Khufu, Khafra, and Menkaura.

The northernmost, and the largest, one belongs to Khufu. Khafra’s pyramid is built precisely on a southwest diagonal to his father’s pyramid, as well as having been built on higher ground to create the illusion of being bigger. The pyramid of Menkaura is much smaller and is not aligned along the same diagonal line as the other two pyramids.

Years ago I remember seeing a report about a second intact boat pit that had been found, man in the hat said it would remain untouched for ever more, now clicking on the map, for which I thank you Winged Isis, I see they started to excavate in 2011 can't find anything more about this anyone any further information?

Let's hope it doesn't take as long as the first boat, about 14 years I think.

Any one of the 3 main pyramids is not aligned along the same diagonal line as the other two, so why is Menkaura singled out?

a) Who says it was "singled out"? Maybe the author couldn't be bothered to repeat the observation with regard to the other two possible pairings.

or

b) Maybe because Menkaura is much smaller and was the last to be built.

or

c) Who cares? :urm: (Apart from Robert Bauval and other adherents of the Orion theory)
