Photos of Tutankhamen discovery you may not have seen

Post by newcastle »

There are some fascinating- and rarely seen - photos of the Tutankhamen discovery on this site :

https://www.facebook.com/groups/5605117 ... ?ref=share

In particular, this post.....

“Yes, I know, the date of the discovery of the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amun was earlier this month (and then 97 years ago), but it is never a bad time to post some "Tut" photos here. Especially if the are somewhat different (and sometimes pretty similar) from the photos we normally see. By the time of the clearance of the tomb and, eventually, the official opening, there must have been plenty of press agencies around to "shoot". the scenes. Two of them were "Agence Meurisse" (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agence_de_presse_Meurisse) and "Agence ROL" (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agence_Rol). Though the photos are anything but similar in quality to the ones Harry Burton took, they are still little pieces of evidence of what was going on at the time.

Enjoy!
