No chimneys to drop down, no letter boxes, not to mention all the virus checks he would have to endure at around $25 a pop, plus flight restrictions. What a bummer of a job.

Thank you all, we had a lovely Christmas even though we are in the middle of a lockdown and only essential shops are open. It was nice and quiet and peaceful. For the one day Christmas is really about it went fast. We are looking forward to see if they take the lockdown off on the second week of January now. At the moment we are averaging two deaths a day and around 20 new infections a day. All in all our Christmas reminded us of Luxor where only maybe 10% celebrated and things were peaceful, however the locals in Luxor did join in with the celebrations, here Christmas and New Year is a staunch family celebration, where close families celebrat together. What makes it diferent this year is we are living under a curfew, so only close relatives can gather for a few hours. We have very few flights coming in and flights from the UK are virtually banned. Any UK people who fly in via other Countries are put on awaiting buses and bused away with only hand luggage to hotels up to 100 miles away to what is called Covid hotels to be in isolation for two weeks. If they then test negative they are released. We have had a few families that flew here to meet up with relatives for 7 days, they were bused off and after 14 days (Provided they tested negative) were returned to the airport to be sent back to the UK. The same restrictions have now been introduced to other Countries. So you can gather everthing is quiet. I imagine now face covers have been introduced in Egypt, that things must also be quietening down.

What a difference time makes, wasn't it you MT who complained loud and long that there wasn't enough Christmas decorations up in Luxor, not enough celebrations.
When it was pointed out to you that the vast majority here don't celebrate Christmas and those that do, the Copts, have a different Christmas Day altogether still the whinging went on.
I am very glad you had a nice Christmas in spite of your lock down. Bet you could get lots of Quality Street and chocky biscuits too.

So what did everyone get for Christmas? I had some Lynx marmite flavour body wash. I don't know whether to bathe with it or eat it!! Also lots of flavoured gins including one from M&S that lights up when you press the bottom of the bottle.

Sorry Crewmeal but Lynx marmite flavoured body wash, ugh.
Can't stand marmite, it's one of those foods you either love or hate I think, does it smell like marmite?
The gin sounds interesting.
