Egypt in the red.
I see the UK government has just placed Egypt in the red zone category concerning travel, more bad news, so I can only assume that Egypt didn't have the virus was false news then.

Re: Egypt in the red.
Can’t imagine why the UK Government didn’t take the Egyptian official stats at face value.
You can’t trust anyone these days.
I was one of those who’d boarded the EasyJet flight to Hurghada yesterday afternoon....only to be kicked off when they cancelled it. The news about Egypt reached the plane before we took off and several people demanded to leave.
The resulting delay ( baggage recovery etc) resulted in crew reaching their time limit.
To say I’m not a happy bunny would be somewhat of an understatement
They’ve put us up overnight in a nice hotel in the hope of finding a new flight.....but no news so far ( 6 am) so I’m pretty sure it’s not happening.
They’ve managed to find another plane to bring those coming from Hurghada...so our member ( can’t recall who) who was travelling from Luxor to UK via Hurghada is alright.

Re: Egypt in the red.
I was booked on the flight yesterday but was told that the outward flight had to be diverted because of a sick passenger. We were transferred to a hotel for the night and are scheduled to fly at 16,15 today. Needless to say that yesterday's flight which only had 55 passengers is now completely full!!

There was no outgoing flight yesterday because they’d cancelled the incoming flight from GTW.
They sent an empty plane this morning to pick you lot up.

Have a great time Newcastle. Keep us posted and above all keep safe. Lets hope by the time you're ready to come back Egypt will be back on the amber list at least!

Re: Egypt in the red.
Thank you.
Had my first dip in the pool today and lapping up the sun.
I’ll try not to be put off with whatever garbage A-Four decides to produce over the weekend. Probably nothing if history repeats itself.
If he thinks wards are crammed with Covid patients he hasn’t been keeping up with the news
No surprise there.....
Of course Covid -19 is a continuing issue here in Egypt. But I’ll not be socialising much and, even were I to contract it, having had both jabs, I reckon the 99% likelihood of suffering nothing worse than a bad cold is a risk worth running for the sake of having a life.
