May cancels election

Post by newcastle » Wed May 31, 2017 6:43 pm

THERESA May has cancelled next week’s general election after deciding it was not necessary after all.

The Conservative leader has recalled all ballot papers and suspended campaigning after realising her parliamentary majority of 17 was actually plenty.

May said: “This is not a U-turn. There has been no change in the position I stated very clearly in early April. I saw no need to hold a general election then, and I see no need to hold one now.

“I am very popular, Labour are further from government than they have ever been, everyone trusts me on Brexit and I would definitely win an election if I called one, so I won’t.

“Holding a general election now, after Article 50 has been triggered and when negotiations with the EU have begun, would be the reckless, irresponsible act of a foolish gambler.”

She added: “Now I can looking forward to a chilled weekend binge-watching Songs of Praise."

I dont think any u-turn could ever come close to as risible as Corbyn and Abbott's anti British, monachy hating, terrorist supporting stance.

What, its all Land Of Hope And Glory & God Save The Queen now is it?

Give me a break.

Interesting was last nights debate with Amber Rudd and Corbyn on the BBC, that organisation should be shut down, I have never seen such a biased audience in my life and they even had Labour 'rent-a-mob' jeering her outside of the gates when she arrived. At least Sky vetted their audience and both sides took the flack, but this was more like feeding time at the zoo, shame on them and to think I am forced to pay for this lot with a licence fee. :vs

And no attempt whatsoever to be subtle about it.

Mmm, didnt Jezza announce at the last minute that he would, after all be willing to appear?

I wonder why?

I wonder if he had a political sixth sense or just plain gambled it would be the most left leaning audience in the history of "balanced" audiences?

Disgraceful
