What on earth is it?!?!?:oops::oops:

I've tried saying it a whole bunch of different ways and can't work it out! I'm having a bit of a thick moment though - so probably my own fault and I'll kick myself when all is revealed!

Konafa was the best I could come up with too Countessa. I take it back about me having a thick moment - I'm obviously not as dim as I suspected! :P

Sorry Guys
It is a sweet the stringgy pasta type stuff that you make in to nests and put sugar water over like you would with basbousa. You can get it every where in Luxor but really need to know if I can get it in the uk? :)

Yup, that's konafa!! :D :) I'd imagine you could get it in any Middle Eastern shop near you...perhaps one of the London shops could deliver??

Why not make baklawa or basbousa?? Baklawa uses basically filo pastry, nuts and sultanas, or basbousa with semolina flour - both of which you can pick up in Sainsburys ;) :)

I'd offer to send you some konafa pastry back with Wills but not sure how long it'd keep for!!

Just done a quick Google - you can make konafa yourself by cutting filo pastry into thin strips.......rather you than me!!!
