One of my favourite goddesses is Seshat, and I always considered her emblem to be a cannabis leaf! Then today, a google alert led me to an article that upheld my suspicions - OK, not written by an Egyptologist (so possibly more open minded).

I think it sounds likely. They were into plant and herbal medicine so why not. :)

Interesting theory but..... no evidence of Cannabis indica or Cannabis sativa have ever been found in any analysed mummy nor is it mentioned in any of the medical papyri that have come down to us.
