Re: Marigold Hotel. Remember!
Here is a Wooden Water Pipe from London I found in Chirk Castle a few weeks ago.
View from the Inside of the Pipe..
I Went there as a kid, to see the TutankhAmoun exhibition..
We had our room robbed while at breakfast, depsite the fact our Hotel was right outside New Scotland yard..
Audacious theft, fair do's..
Next Time I went, it took 8 hours to leave the City, due to the traffic..

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is the best film we have watched for some time. Brilliantly acted. Highly recommended.

And the Food don't forget the food, the baked salmon with the smoked salmon pasta twirls was to die for, my chicken tandoori avec-le dips obviously a winner, but then Sherherazade's own, with the Orange Tart and Chocolate Ice cream, truly 'Orgasmic, the film a winner, the company excellent, and now at 2.am, I go to watch Battle for the Pacific 2O11, looks good and eating tandoori chicken hot dip and red wine, la whaala, love life ,live long and prosper,

And I forgot all about it! Was looking forward to it too.
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

Re: Marigold Hotel. Remember!
I've not seen the film yet. I so enjoyed the book when it first came out - These Foolish Things by Deborah Moggach (before it's title change) - I would hate for the film characters to destroy my images of the various characters and characteristics. The film does have a fantastic cast though and I'm sure I'll get round to seeing the film one day!
I don't know if it's also be been made into a film but if you enjoyed Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, you may enjoy reading Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson. It is full of the same gentle humour.

Best film I have seen in ages. Had a smile on my face all the way through. With a cast like that, you really couldn't go wrong. Thanks for the food too - yummy. A lovely night.

I particularly loved the fact that you could easily have replaced Egypt for India

Re: Marigold Hotel. Remember!
Isn't she always! I am currently watching my recording of "Murder by Death", an oldie but goodie send-up of all those famous-detective murder mysteries. It has a cast of stars, including the delightful Miss Smith.
My most recent cinema outing was to see the fabulous "The Intouchables". DON'T MISS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
