Converting/Comparing Land Measurements

How do you convert/compare Egyptian land measurements into the local unit? I know they use metric, but what about karats (sp?). I am trying to tell Egyptians who asked, about Australia's (and the world's) biggest farm, Anna Creek Station in South Australia, which is 24,000 sq kms/6,000 acres/2428.14 hectares.

"A feddan (Arabic: فدّان‎, faddān) is a unit of area. It is used in Egypt, Sudan, and Syria. The feddan is not an SI unit and in Arabic, the word means 'a yoke of oxen': implying the area of ground that could be tilled by them in a certain time. In Egypt the feddan is the only non-metric unit which remained in use following the switch to the metric system. A feddan is divided into 24 Kirats (175 m²)

1 feddan = 24 kirat = 60 metre x 70 meter = 4200 square metres (m²) = 1.038 acres"

Ooh, too late in the day here to get my head around that right now, my brain hurts! But shukran gezilan TC, I'll re-cogitate in the morning. Certainly looks like it will do the job. And it's "kirats"! Sweet.
