Once upon a time there was a creature that lived in Luxor. This creature was one of many, but as his other creature friends had to, he lived a life of secrecy. Mr. Piggy was an outcast, but an outcast with hidden desires. He wanted to become part of a society that frowned upon creatures such as he. The bad breed, the unclean. But not totally unwanted as a certain section of the rest of society venerated Mr. Piggy and his friends. They wanted his meat. But Mr. Piggy could not openly display himself to the human eye, his life was one of darkness and segregation. One day Mr. Piggy was nuzzling though his food, scraps that were continually cast his way, when he saw one of his masters hanging out the skins that these other creatures covered themselves with. Mr. Piggy could never understand this, why not be content, as he was, with what the Pig creator had given them. But Mr. Piggy realised one thing about these coverings, and that was they enabled the masters to go outside. And this other outside world looked inviting. Mr Piggy also knew that the coverings would be left for at least two days, so a plan began to formulate in his mind. [be thankful for your lot in life, as sudden change can disappoint]
Mr. Piggy waited until the darkness descended upon the streets. He ambled over towards a tall wooden pole that held these loose skins off the ground and nudged it with his snout, sending the coverings towards the floor. Mr. Piggy did not know what this bright yellow skin was made from, but at least it was easy to get into, having no bottom lid or top, not like his food bucket. He thought that it was called a dress, but couldn’t be sure. Mr. Piggy got the skin on and stood on just his hind legs. Now Mr. Piggy had a trick up his new found sleeve. He could talk the human speech by closing his throat off just a little. He exited the gate that was always loose on its leather straps and ventured outside into the darkness. Mr. Piggy was surprised how quiet it was compared to the bright day, but then he thought that this would be better for him on this first time venture outside. Mr Piggy walked to the end of the street were he met two human creatures. Mr. Piggy knew that he had to be polite, so greeted them with a good evening my name is Mr. Piggy. They looked surprised at him and scuttled off quickly. Mr. Piggy heard them say that she must be the ugliest woman in the whole of Luxor and looked more like a pig. Although Mr. Piggy could speak the human tongue, he understood little, so accepted it as a complement. Then he had a sudden realisation, this skin that he had donned was one that the female creatures wore so that had obviously confused the humans. So he decided to refer to himself as Miss Piggy in future. After all, Mr. Piggy thought, what difference would it make. [Its not how the person looks, its what’s inside that matters]
After a while he came across another human that sat on a wall, looking at the many white creatures that passed him by. Mr. Piggy thought that he could be related to this creature as they looked very similar. So the now Miss Piggy said hello and told the human that it looked a nice night for a stroll. The human agreed with this so linked arms with Miss Piggy and proceeded to walk. This human looked to be very proud as he met and greeted passers by that he obviously knew. Miss Piggy knew that this was to be the beginning of a new friendship and it seemed that all that met them thought the same as they broke into hysterical bouts of laughter when others saw then, obviously happy for them both. His new friend took Miss Piggy home and told her that they would live together. The once Mr. Piggy was very happy with this. Every day the new friend would come and ask for something called an ATM card and number, but this was unknown to Miss piggy. Miss piggy started to regret coming here as now the door was always locked with no fresh air and freedom. Miss Piggy began to think that she had become a secret part of this new friends life. [the grass is not always greener on the other side]
There is usually a moral to every story, but some fall on deaf ears.
