Muslim Brotherhood figure calls on Morsy supporters to sacrifice themselves.

Mohamed al-Beltagi, member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, addressed President Mohamed Morsy’s supporters on Tuesday, calling on them to sacrifice themselves in defense of President Morsy’s legitimacy in the face of millions of demonstrators who demand an end to his rule.

On Facebook, Beltagi described the 30 June protests as a "30 June coup d’etat."

“We are clearly facing a coup by the former regime, that is supported by a misleading and counter-revolutionnary media that benefits from political conflict,” he added.

Beltagi added that sacrifice is an important measure to prevent the "coup," and that it is the only way to remain loyal to the martyrs of the revolution.

Privately-owned daily al-Tahrir reported similar statements on Monday, which Beltagi made while addressing supporters rallying in Rab’a al-Adaweya Square.

“Say goodbye to your mother, father, and wife, because you will sacrifice your soul to defend Mohamed Morsy’s legitimacy,” he said.

The Independent states that he is just a member of the FJP, If he was an office holder in the FJP or connected with any big wig then I'm sure that they would have mentioned that given their general editorial policy of anti-fundamentalism. My betting is that he is a nobody with a big mouth and god knows there are lots of those on both sides of the fence at the moment.

Significantly, the Independent makes no mention of the size of the crowd he was addressing. If it was any size surely they would have mentioned that. I'm also prepared to bet that it was a small crowd.

More significantly I have read of no reports of any office holder in the FJP proposing violence - but its early days. There the big story is the silence not the rantings of a nonentity: but silence is not a news story.

Unfortunately it makes uncomfortable reading in the present situation - too close to real life at this time? Perhaps, but I'll say here what people are saying off the board - your usual humour misfired this time with some of us.

The Stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.. To sacrifice ones life for the sole purpose of taking other lives, is no laughing matter.
But, having such a ridiculous belief that Allah not only condones but REWARDS this kind of action in the "religion of Peace" really does raise a cynical eyebrow or 2.
One really has to laugh at this kind of radical thinking... Either that or worry about it, and all the worry in the world will not change a situation..

What concerns me personally and I'm sure the same thing happens with other religions, other than "Islam" is that people mis-label themselves as a particular religion and Uncle Tom Cobley and all for some reason accept that.

Recently the idea of Buddists killing people really shocked me, yet we are led to believe by the media that they are indeed now killing on a large scale.

I am a Muslim, I read the Koran but I really don't see any evidence of glory in any form of suicide in there, quite the reverse. Again and again the Koran says "It is better to forgive, if only you knew" Rather tragically we are advised not to allow "schisms" to divide us, but who listens?

Would Jesus approve of Guantanamo Bay and the Iraq and Afghanistan fiascos?

Would The Buddah approve of killing people?

In the end people should be known by their deeds and not by the names they call themselves or labels that ignorant people put on them.

Clearly MD your off line community, and I do not mean that to sound humorous or disrespectful, missed the point of the post. Call it political satire, very popular in the nineteenth and twentieth century when far worse examples of political wrongdoings and observations of peoples actions were depicted in the popular press. It was not meant to be funny by any understanding of the term. These 'faithful' are advocating a moral, death dealing war on innocent people, be it man woman or child. The post was my view of how pathetically stupid their doctrines are and what value they place on the lives of their own future, the children. Woman are less thought of as worthy of the grand sacrifice, and highlighted how low these animals consider women to be on the food chain. But, if my view of things has offended some, then I will be the first to apologize, but I will never alter my view.

I thought Dusak's post was political satire and I also thought it did show how pathetically ridiculous this 'situation' is. To me his post made the point and hit the mark.

I might also add that however close to the mark and however distasteful some topics are they are far far far better being talked about so as to SHOW THE RIDICULOUSNESS of the premise than to not talk about it and keep it hidden so that it can fester away in the dark recesses of hushed lips. This is giving too much power to those animals who would even call upon others to consider this.

It deserves to be shown that calling on people to be suicide bombers points out exactly how little these animals view human life. Not even going to waste my breath saying again they consider women sub-human. That they would even remotely suggest something like this is abhorrent and this needs to be pointed out, talked about, brought out of the closet and put into the correct context of how totally destructively abhorrent this type of call is to Islam and to people in general. Political satire IS an excellent medium to do this and personally I think Dusak accomplished this.
