Clocks will go back one hour in Egypt at midnight on Thursday to be the normal two hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
Egypt moved clocks ahead by one hour on Thursday 31 July to restore daylight savings time.
Restoring daylight savings time was a meant to alleviate a worsening energy crisis. The decision was temporarily suspended from 29 June to 27 July to shorten fasting hours during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, where Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk.
First implemented in Egypt in 1988, daylight savings time was introduced as a power-saving measure to prolong daylight hours. It was abolished almost three years ago following the 2011 uprising that toppled autocrat Hosni Mubarak after officials debated its efficacy on curbing power usage.
Facing acute fuel shortages, Egypt has been plagued by frequent blackouts – at times lasting for several hours – that have widely affected homes and factories.
The crisis worsens during the summer months when soaring temperatures prompt the widespread use of air conditioners, thus increasing electricity consumption.

That's going to cause confusion for some - yes you will be two hours in front of GMT but at the moment the UK is one hour in front of GMT so come tomorrow Egypt (and that's the whole of Egypt not just some parts as someone suggested last time) will be one hour ahead of the UK - simples.

Confused.com
we are already 2 hours ahead so Saturday's question time will be at 10minutes past 2pm rather than 10minutes past 3pm as was last week, So bear with-me on this, if I have this correct I can stay up an hour later tonight right ?....
Ps: do I really give a flying f***?

Yes, we have just gone back an hour - I was looking at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ just as it changed Cairo's time from 23:59 to 23:00

Some folk are just born lucky, the smallest most simplistic things in life create excitement for them and the fine art of clock watching has been practiced by many since the first tick met tock At my age and into the future, just the very fact that I still wake up in the mornings is exciting and as I can't see the clock on the wall until I've put my specks on you don't miss what you can't see. Think the bigger picture. PS, its 9.57 am.
